Leo Jung Papers, 1878-1992, 1970-1979.

The collection contains correspondence (primarily from 1970s), personal materials, and writings of Rabbi Jung and others, as well as various financial records of the Jewish Center relating to fundraising and charitable donations. Correspondence reflects most strongly Rabbi Jung's charitable work in America on behalf of the Rabbonim Aid Society and the Jewish Center Torah Society, and in Israel for Kfar Eliyahu, Keren Yaldenu, Yad Benjamin, the Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem and many other yeshivas and vocational training centers for both boys and girls. Earlier personal letters reveal his concern for kosher kitchens on trans-Atlantic steamships (1936), his potential participation in a rally in support of the Scottsboro Boys (1937), his aid for Jewish refugees in Shanghai (1940, 1945), and his trip to post-war Japan on behalf of the United States armed forces (1949).
